Single Pass Color
OKI Printing Solutions digital LED color printers are engineered with four solid-state print arrays and four synchronized photoconductive drums in a compact horizontal format. The four toner colors are laid on the paper and fused in one direct pass.

Single Pass color printing is achieved with four individual printing stations using proven LED printhead technology. Digitally controlled LED printheads with over 10,000 LEDs provide up to true 1200 x 1200 dpi print resolution with unsurpassed sharpness.

The paper is advanced and held with precise registration with the electrostatically charged transfer belt. As the paper approaches, the printhead flashes the image to the drum which transfers the color toner to the paper.

In this way, the paper passes by each drum color (CMYK) a single time, instead of wrapping all the way around the drum as is often the case with some laser technology. This allows for a wider choice of print media (or paper), including heavy card stock, banners, labels and more.
